Visit Scotland 5 Star Gold award
5 Star Gold !
It was a busy summer and as you'd expect my first priory was to put my energies into delivering for our guests. It was then that we were granted a Visit Scotland 5 Star GOLD award. We were absolutely delighted especially as I always want to improve to the next level. There are 58 "Visit Scotland 5 Star B&Bs" in Scotland of which 28 have a GOLD award.
So what does that mean?
Gold awards are granted by Visit Scotland to those who, I quote "consistently achieve the highest levels of excellence within their VisitScotland star grading. Businesses achieving the award will excel in the areas of customer care and hospitality and show evidence of a real commitment to staff development and training."
Which means .....?
I'm sure consistency is absolutely key for guests who want to be sure their first great experience wasn't just luck and if they return they will be equally happy and not end up spoiling a previous memory. As "consistency" here is largely about customer care so we still change little things so returning guests see or taste something different - the new fine bone china tea-set, table, collage and different flavoured scones - but at the end of the day it's us as hosts who need to excel in customer care.
We've had some very frequent returning guests over the last 3 years and so far they say they're still coming back!
We're too small to be annonymous and it's our home too so of course it's kind of personal. So we do continually ask how we can improve and genuinely we want to. The mystery shopper inspections help and Dave and I often suggest to each other what could be done better. We've increased our help for the summer this year too so I can keep providing dinners and afternoon teas and Alison and Karolina are both in there with us helping us all improve.
Please tell us what you think
So, if you've been a guest and can think of something you'd like to be different or you've just looked at the website and thought that's not quite right - then do please tell us.
I've just claimed our Trip Advisor reviews - see here - so that's pretty scary too!
All the best
Dave and Sarah were the perfect hosts. They tended to our every need and made sure our last night in Scotland was the highlight of our short stay.
Delightful hosts, ideal location. You don't appreciate what you're getting until you stay. A real Scottish gem!
Our return visit was just as special as our first. What a truly wonderful experience - AGAIN.
